Cllr E Hopkinson named Mayor for 2023/24

Cllr Ethan Hopkinson has been elected as The Mayor of Irthlingborough for 2023/24 Civic Year.

Councillor Ethan Hopkinson has been elected as The Mayor of Irthlingborough for the 2023/24 Civic Year. He will be supported by Councillor Tracey Walton who has been elected Deputy Mayor.

On his election as Mayor, Councillor Hopkinson said:

'I am truly honoured to have been elected as The Mayor of Irthlingborough for the coming Civic Year.

I'd like to thank our outgoing Mayor, Councillor John Farrar, and his consort Dorothy, for their service during John's Mayoral year. It was a unique year in our national life and John, with his signature wit, humour and flair for public speaking was the very best person to lead our town through it.

It was a pleasure to serve as Deputy Mayor and support John during his term of office. John will be a hard act to follow but, with the support of Councillor Tracey Walton as Deputy Mayor I look forward to meeting individuals, organisations and businesses within the town and representing Irthlingborough across Northamptonshire.'

The Mayor has chosen Irthlingborough Youth Club and RSPCA Northamptonshire as his Mayoral Charities. Both causes are close to his heart with him having helped found Irthlingborough Youth Club and currently working for RSPCA Northamptonshire.
